Every year around Father's Day, I start seeing the same questions pop up.
"Where should we take Dad?"
"What's happening around Prosper?"
"What's the best Father's Day event in Frisco or Plano?"
Those are great questions, but as I've gotten older, I've realized something.
The Father's Days I remember most aren't tied to a particular event.
They're tied to moments.
Some of my favorite memories have nothing to do with reservations, tickets, or special promotions. They're the afternoons spent with my kids, Andrew, Mitchell, and Ashlyn. Sometimes it's a baseball game. Sometimes it's a meal together. Sometimes it's simply sitting around talking about life and catching up on what's happening in each other's worlds.
Those moments seem ordinary when they're happening.
Years later, they're the ones you remember.
Living in communities like Prosper, Celina, Frisco, and Plano makes those moments easier to create. We have parks, trails, golf courses, ballparks, lakes, restaurants, and gathering places almost everywhere you look. But the real value isn't the destination.
It's the opportunity to spend time together.
A RoughRiders Game Still Feels Like Father's Day
If you're looking for a Father's Day outing this year, the Frisco RoughRiders will be home on Father's Day, June 21, 2026. The organization has scheduled Dad Jokes Day, Kids Sunday Funday activities, and postgame fireworks, making it one of the more family-friendly options in the area. (OurSports Central)
And honestly, baseball has always been one of those activities that naturally brings generations together.
No one is staring at a phone.
The game moves slowly enough to have conversations.
Before you know it, three hours have passed.
The Backyard Is Still Tough to Beat
Of course, Father's Day in Texas often means one thing.
Barbecue.
The smell of a brisket smoker starting before sunrise is practically part of North Texas culture. Some of my favorite Father's Day memories involve nothing more than family gathering in the backyard, checking on the smoker, telling stories, and enjoying a slower pace for a few hours.
No tickets required.
PGA Frisco and the Golf Tradition
For golf-loving dads, PGA Frisco has quickly become one of the most recognizable destinations in North Texas. Whether you're playing a round, hitting balls on the range, or simply enjoying lunch and watching golfers navigate the course, it's become a place where families can spend time together without feeling rushed. Don't Overlook the Simple Things
One thing I've learned as a father is that the activity usually matters less than the company.
A walk through a local park.
A casual lunch.
Fishing at a nearby lake.
Watching a baseball game.
Sharing a meal around the table.
Those are the moments that stick.
As a dad, I've been fortunate to create those kinds of memories with Andrew, Mitchell, and Ashlyn over the years. And if there's one thing Father's Day reminds me of, it's how quickly time moves.
The little moments eventually become the big memories.
What Makes These Communities Special
When people ask me why so many families are drawn to Prosper, Celina, Frisco, and Plano, the answer isn't just schools, amenities, or home values.
It's quality of life.
These communities make it easy to spend meaningful time together.
And on Father's Day, that's really what we're celebrating.
Not an event.
Not a schedule.
Not a promotion.
Just family.
